Infoblox plugin with vRA / vRO: Can't override DHCP opt suffix with custom properties

I have everything working great with the Infoblox plugin since vCAC/vRA 5.  I am currently migrating to 7.1 in development (may upgrade to vRA 7.2) with Infoblox plugin 4.0.2 for vRO.

The issue I am having, is that if I want some of the VM Blueprints to provision to another zone (that my wapi user has r/w perms to) other then the default assigned by the DHCP options for the network/range, the workflow doesn't seem to the custom properties to overrride the DHCP options.

First is there a way to get the workflow to use custom properties assed from vRA over DHCP options from the range?

With domain/zones local.edu, subB.local.edu, and subA.subB.local.edu vRO log reports the following:

[2017-01-12 08:35:01.436] [I] vRA resource properties:

Second, using the custom hostnaming from Daily Hypervisor, how come the default name is used in the "Allocate" workflow and isn't updated to the custom hostname until later in the "Update IPAM records" workflow?

  Infoblox.IPAM.CustomHostname.ConditionalMachineCustomProperty0.Name: Custom.SetCustomHostname.Execute

   Custom.ComponentMachine.HostnameScheme: {GRP}{LOC}{APP}{##}
   Infoblox.IPAM.CustomHostname.ConditionalMachineCustomProperty0.Value: true

Hello,

Regarding First question, currently it is not possible to pass the DHCP suffix from Custom Options. This is in the backlog and is planned for future release.

Regarding Second question, Host name change gets done in Update IPAM Records. Our Plugin has integration with the vRA and Allocate gets called too early in the provisioning. Host name change gets done by Custom Hostnaming Workflow which gets called through event subscription. Infoblox Update IPAM Records updates the host name updated by Custom Hostnaming Workflow.

Thanks,
Pankaj

The only way I was able to get it to work was to create two seperate Ranges.  Each range then had associated DHCP network with slightly different DHCP options including different domain and search domains.

Separate ranges are the only way to do this right now. The ability to override the DHCP options inherited from the network/range is not in the 4.x versions of the plugin. We are working on adding that functionality but don't have a confirmed release date.

Any updates on this would be great.  It looks like there are many customers that would like the functionality
