Infoblox ActiveTrust suite selected as a finalist in CRN’s Tech Innovators Award

Exciting news today at Infoblox: our ActiveTrust suite was selected as a finalist for CRN’s 2017 Innovator Awards. CRN describes finalists as standout hardware, software or services that have helped to move the IT industry forward - judged on criteria including technological advancements, the uniqueness of features and potential to help solution providers solve end users’ IT challenges. Given this, we’re particularly thrilled as the IT industry is certainly a crowded and competitive one.

This tremendous achievement is also a reminder of the important role the channel plays in providing organizations with strong cybersecurity solutions - particularly at Infoblox where we are strongly committed to the channel and our partners.

As the risk of cyber threats increase and hackers become more sophisticated in their attack methods, a robust security posture can no longer be solved with a point product. It takes solutions often made up of multiple components that work together seamlessly to protect infrastructure and data in an organization. With ActiveTrust suite, we aim to address technology providers’ need to solve end users’ challenges of protecting data and mitigating malware on their networks.

ActiveTrust suite protects devices and users everywhere: on-premises, roaming and in remote offices. Delivered as a SaaS service or on-premise appliances, it helps:

  • Prevent DNS-based data exfiltration at scale
  • Stop  Command and Control (C&C) and botnet communications
  • Acquire curated threat intelligence from internal and external sources and selectively distribute data
  • Quickly investigate threat indicators for context
  • Expedite remediation by sharing curated threat intelligence in real time with existing security systems including next-generation firewalls, SIEM, web proxies
  • Automatically share  DNS  indicators of compromise (IoCs) with  other security systems (including NAC, SIEM, Endpoint and vulnerability scanner) for prioritization and faster remediation

Unfortunately many organizations still continue to see DNS security as an afterthought and it’s often not a central piece to the cybersecurity puzzle. Ransomware attacks like WannaCry and Jaff that were launched earlier this year highlight the need for DNS layer security, as most malware including ransomware uses DNS in their execution cycle to communicate with C&C sites. Moreover, DNS, DHCP and IPAM data also hold a wealth of information on the network and malicious activity which can be leveraged by other security ecosystem tools for prioritization and faster response to threats.

Slowly though, end users are beginning to realize the value of a DNS security solution, and this is where a strong channel and partner program becomes critical. As DNS security moves top of mind to network and IT decision-makers, it’s important that our solutions are able to integrate quickly with others, for deeper visibility, faster DNS security adoption, and more comprehensive security.

This CRN award is a testament to our commitment to the channel, our partners and delivering a superior DNS security solution to help thwart hackers and cyber attacks.  We look forward to continuing our momentum in the IT industry and partner ecosystem in the coming year.
