Hello,
I'm writing to you because I'm trying to migrate from Bind to Infoblox with the DIW tool. My problem is that I have selected the following advanced options:
- "Create HOSTS and BULK HOSTS DURING IMPORT"
- "IMPORT ONLY THE FIRST PTR RECORD"
But when an address have an A record and several PTRs that point to it that "associates the A address with all PTRs"
Example :
- BIND :
test.com IN A 127.0.0.1
127.0.0.1 IN PTR test.com
127.0.0.2 IN PTR test.com
- AFTER IMPORT TO INFOBLOX
HOST 1 : test.com IN A 127.0.0.1 + 127.0.0.1 IN PTR test.com + 127.0.0.2 IN PTR test.com
- BUT WHAT SHOULD BE CREATED :
HOST 1 : test.com IN A 127.0.0.1 + 127.0.0.1 IN PTR test.com
PTR : 127.0.0.2 IN PTR test.com
Have you been able to solve this problem?
Thank you in advance

First of all, I want to write that if you are trying to add Infoblox as an external secondary device, and not transfer zones to Infoblox, then I think you should learn all the CSV Import Guide in detail. Below is an example of how Infoblox is an external secondary agent taken from Google:
"header-authzone,fqdn*,zone_format*,allow_active_dir,allow_query,allow_transfer,allow_update,allow_update_forwarding,comment,create_underscore_zones,ddns_principal_group,ddns_principal_tracking,ddns_restrict_patterns,ddns_restrict_patterns_list,ddns_restrict_protected,ddns_restrict_secure,ddns_restrict_static,disable_forwarding,disabled,external_primaries,external_secondaries,grid_primaries,grid_secondaries,is_multimaster,notify_delay,ns_group,prefix,_new_prefix,soa_default_ttl,soa_email,soa_expire,soa_mnames,soa_negative_ttl,soa_refresh,soa_retry,soa_serial_number,update_forwarding,view,zone_type
authzone,example.com,FORWARD,,,,,,,FALSE,,,,,,,,FALSE,FALSE,external-ns1.example.com/192.0.2.99/False/False/False/None/None/None,,,grid1-ns4.example.com/False/False/False,FALSE,,,,,,,,,,,,,,default,Authoritative"
Can you tell us more information about what you hope to achieve? Are you making Infoblox a secretive or secondary publication or are you preparing for migration or something else? I would advise you to contact a specialist or specialists in this field.
