Hello All,

I would like to be able to use the CLI to examine the DDNS updates, to see rejects and failures, etc.

How can I do that? The web GUI for syslog seems to be no help here.

doe a considerable amount of searching for this without success.

Thanks so much,

The values the ddns widget shows can be retrieved over snmp, each failed update should also trigger a log message so you can also grab them from the there and count them over longer times.

From the UI you can get them as part of the dns statistics

Data Management -> DNS -> Members/Servers

Select one of the dns servers

In the right hand toolbar, click the down arrow next to view and select view statistics.

Hello Ingmar,

Thanks for the help on this one. A little too easy, GUI wise!

None of the rejects or failures show up in "View DNS Statistics"  - so

I will assume the log file rotates, or stores only so much.

I will look in to the snmp side of things. I was trying to configure DDNS, got it working (I thought),

but was getting rejects and failures. My reasoning was that if I could see the rejects or failures, I could find out

why DDNS was (or was not) working.

Thanks for the relpy -

These statistics are set back to 0 on restart of the dns service.

I also dug up the following cli command which gives you some data: show dhcp_dddns_updates

To figure out why DDNS is failing it is best to check the syslog entries as each failed update will be logged.
