Hi All,
I would like to configure DHCP option for IP Phone which is avaya.
There are two environments for avaya.
1. it uses only voice vlan
2. some networks uses voice vlan and data vlan.
point one, we use dhcp option 176 & 242 with string
L2Q=1,L2QVLAN=600,VLANTEST=60,MCIPADD=172.19.45.10,MCPORT=1720
(voice vlan = 600)
and it works.
But we dont know the string for the networks for point 2. it doesnt work for previous string.
Lets say.. voice vlan = 600 and data vlan = 879, VLANTEST = 60, MCIPADD = 172.19.45.10, MCPORT = 1720.
What is the correct string for that?
Thank you
Best Regards,
Rio

In the DATA VLAN you would do something like:
L2Q=1,L2QVLAN=600,VLANTEST=60
And in the VOICE VLAN you would do:
L2Q=1,VLANTEST=60,MCIPADD=172.19.45.10,MCPORT=1720

Hi SSieber,
so based on this datas,
voice vlan = 600.
data vlan = 879.
VLANTEST = 60.
MCIPADD = 172.19.45.10.
MCPORT = 1720.
I should create 4 DHCP Options for the networks that has avaya with voice and data vlan. So should it be like this?
1. DHCP option 176 voice vlan -> L2Q=1,L2QVLAN=600,VLANTEST=60
2. DHCP option 242 voice vlan -> L2Q=1,L2QVLAN=600,VLANTEST=60
3. DHCP option 176 data vlan -> L2Q=1,VLANTEST=60,MCIPADD=172.19.45.10,MCPORT=1720
4. DHCP option 242 data vlan -> L2Q=1,VLANTEST=60,MCIPADD=172.19.45.10,MCPORT=1720

Thank you

Yes, that is my understanding. Always for 176 and 242.

Hello -
We are currently using Avaya 9640 IP phones, and I don't believe our server team has setup Infoblox to account for DHCP options for the Avaya phones in our environment. Do you have an article that provides instruction on how this would be configured? What other information do you need? Also, we are thinking about utilizing Microsoft's Cloud PBX system at some point, and I am testing Skype for Business certified phones (Polycom & AudioCodes). Normally when implementing these types of phones into an environment, the DHCP options must be configured on the domain controller. Since we utilize Infoblox instead, do you have an article that lays out how to set this up? We currently use Skype for Business Online.
Thanks,
Chris
