Hi

ApplicationFrameHost_2018-12-31_16-12-46.png

I have to upgrade all these hw models to TE1415 models.

The new models I think would be shipped with the latest 8.3.2.

And the current version on the grid is 7.3.4-322642.

The upgrade path for 8.3.2 is : 8.3.1, 8.3.0, 8.3.0 EA 2, 8.3.0 EA 1, 8.2.7, 8.2.6, 8.1.8, 8.0.11, 7.3.18, and 7.2.19

Should I upgrade the current grid to 8.3.2 before proceeding? And since this is a direct path, the GRID can downgrade the new appliances to the current 7.3.4 from8.3.2?

OR should the approach here be to first replace the PASSIVE members with the new HW?

Will the HA be supported between IB-1410 and TE-1415?

And then failover and replace other members one by one?

Also can a backup from IB-1410 be restore on a TE-1415? I know that software restoring is supported as long as a direct upgrade path is supported but not sure about the hardware differences.

Hello Allwyn,

Please accept our apologies for the delayed response.

The minimum NIOS release for SOT  appliances  (TE-1415 , TE-1425, TE-815, TE-825 and so on) is 7.3.7. Since your current grid is on 7.3.4, you will not be able to join the appliances to grid.  Hence you will need to upgrade your grid to one of the latest versions.

With regards to your second question whether HA is supported between IB-1410 and TE-1415, please be informed that Infoblox suggests that same model appliance be made in HA pair.

Yes, backup from 1410 appliance can be restored on 1415 appliance.

Hope we have answered your queries.

Regards,

Manu M
