Host record not resolving reverse

Hi,

 

I am new in DDI environment, Just we migrate our DNS from bind (Linux server) to Infoblox. While migrating it tooks all records type as Host record it causing reverse lookup failure. 

 

Can someone please help me to understand why its happening .? We cannot create seperate PTR record for all host records since we have 1000+ recorsd in our zone file.

The most common causes for this type of behavior are:

 

  • The coresponding reverse mapping zone has not been created
  • Name servers have not been assigned to the reverse mapping zone
  • Services have not been restarted after making changes to the reverse mapping zone
  • The query is not being sent to a name server which has knowledge of the reverse mapping zone

 

Verify that the zones are setup correctly and if you still run into issues, you may want to involve Infoblox Support.

I did restart all the members DNS services and now working fine.
