Hello,

I am running v8.1 of Infoblox.

Is there a setting where you can set max invalid logon attempts at which time the account is locked out for a time period or interface is disabled for a period? I cannot seem to find this setting for local or AD based authentication. However, it seems if I make 6 bad logon attempts the logon button on the web interface becomes disabled for a time when using either a local or AD account so it seems like this setting may exist. Our AD setting does not lock accounts until 10 invalid logon attempts. I would like to know where this setting is for both Local and AD based authentication I have search the documentation, interface and google it but cannot seem to find this.

Thank you,

Hi nfullenkamp,

NIOS does not have the ability to modify/control the number of login failures. The default value for unsuccessful login attempts is set to 5. If the limit is exceeded, access to the GUI is blocked for 60 seconds.

It seems like there is already an RFE/Feature Request in place for this feature which is RFE-5503 "Ability to control the number of login attempts that can fail before access to the GUI is restricted". You might want to contact your Accounts team to prioritize this or you can create a support ticket so that Support Can add your organization to the list of customers requesting for the feature and give your Accounts team a notification about this.

Regards,
