Is it possible to link directly to a page in NetMRI?

For example, I would like to link to the Network Explorer -> Inventory -> Infrastructure Devices page with a specific search pre set. It would allow us to link from our location management tool to an overview of the devices available at that location.

I found that there are some possibilities in the device viewer screen by playing with the URL parameters. But I haven't found anything to do the same in the main netmri screen.

Look at the API help.  It will give you the ability to have filters in the URL itself.  You will have to look at how you are getting it different, by this I mean how the data is stored verus screen titles.

I know you can get about every info through the use of the API's. But the XML response isn't exactly user friendly.

What we're looking for is a way to direct users to a certain GUI page without them having to click and search around them selves.

Why not save the filter as a "View" and instruct the user to click on "Views" and select the correct one

That would still require the users to manually go to the right page and then select the right filter.

What I've got in mind is showing an overview of all devices in a certain location. Because we have hundreds of them, we can't make a filter for each. For example, I would like to link from our location management tool directly to the switch port management page showing the available/free ports for devices at that location. The location is part of the name of every device so a simple filter for the locations id would be sufficient.

In the mean while I looked at the javascript code behind the GUI. When you log in to NetMRI, you see in the URL a part like this "navigate_to=Issues". It triggers the GUI to show a certain tab. It also has the ability to navigate deeper into the different tree views, but it looks like it isn't implemented up to a level I would need and also is broken for the network explorer part of the GUI. So I guess we can only instruct our users to manually navigate to the rights page (= 4 clicks and a couple of seconds loading. Then typing in the right filter)

Might be an idea for an RFE. Being able to show whatever table/grid is available, along with applying filters by navigating to a specific URL.
Something like:
