Outbound Messages from NetMRI Script

I have a request to send some kind of notification when a certain change is made (to switch config) by a NetMRI script. Several different types of notifications would likely be acceptable (email from NetMRI, syslog from NetMRI, trap from NetMRI, REST API call to random web service, etc). Please let me know what options are - examples/pointers greatly appreciated.

Hello C, you can use our Custom Issues here us an example of customs issue script(not a working one but an example)

When that issue is fired you can setup a notification to either email/syslog/snmptrap

You can navigate to Settings icon –> Notifications –> Subscriptions, click on "Add Notification", set the Category to Change.

This can send you notifications for all changes identified by NetMRI. You can chose between 3 methods to receive notifications- Email, SNMP Trap and Syslog

Note: This is not limited to changes made by a NetMRI script. This will trigger a notification for all the changes found by NetMRI.

You can also set the Category to  "Job". This will trigger notifications for all Jobs ran from NetMRI, which may have caused the change

Rajiv,

Thanks for the suggestion. That is too broad. We only want to know when NetMRI is who makes the change, and only for a certain change (within a NetMRI script).

The custom issues method Sif suggests might be something we could force ouselves to maybe use - but it's a far cry from email or API call that says something like "On device 1.1.1.1 shutdown command was applied to interface ethernet 1/1." Specific/detailed and immediate communication like that is what is desired, but since not available we'll have to make due without.
