Hello All,

When trying to import a reverse zone with /27 I am getting the following error :

Error,header-network,address*,netmask*,comment,zone_associations,dhcp_members,auto_create_reversezone,always_update_dns

"""Line 18: Insertion aborted due to Cannot create reverse-mapping zones for the network CIDR 27. Only /8, /16, and /24 networks are allowed.""",network,10.X.X.X ,255.255.255.224,NA,mgmt.exch.int/False/default,,TRUE,TRUE

Anybody knows if it is possible to import a smaller network with /27 netmask ?

We are running NIOS 6.9.201 LD

Kind regards,

David Sanchez

Hi David,

the dot in an ip address is the DNS delimiter for parent and child zones. That is why only /8, /16 and /24 can be created as regular reverse zones.

Smaller then a /24 is possible following RFC 2317 but requires a prefix.

Try to import this:

header-authzone,fqdn*,zone_format*,grid_primary,grid_primary_stealth,prefix,view,zone_type
authzone,12.13.15.0/27,IPV4,infoblox.localdomain,False,0-31,default,Authoritative
