Using 'My Products' tab in the Support Portal
Login to support portal (https://support.infoblox.com) using Google Chrome for best performance and click "My Products" to open the Overview page that contains the list of appliances (Hosts) maintenance contracts, software entitlements (Assigned and Unassigned) and subscriptions.

Buttons at the top of My Products page

Select Account: Resellers and Distributors must use this field to filter Products owned by their End Customers.

Note: The below activation steps are applicable only for a new order where licenses are not pre-activated.

For subsequent renewal orders, updated license strings will be available for download at the support portal and customers can directly follow the steps to download those licenses.

Licenses can be purchased from Infoblox generally in two formats:

  • Perpetual (permanent)
  • Subscription (that has an end date)

Once the licenses are purchased, the support contacts listed on the order will receive a Shipment Notification on which the details such as Activation ID, SKU, SKU description, Quantity, End date is mentioned.

Each type of license installed on the appliance enables a specific feature for the appliance/Grid. To obtain any additional licenses/features, please contact your Infoblox Account team.

License Installation:

License keys can be applied through the GUI or through the CLI.

To apply  DDI license keys through GUI.
  1. Select the Grid tab  > select the Licenses tab > click the Add icon (plus symbol +).
  2. Upload the license file that you generated from the Support site or from a previously backed-up file. You can also paste the license (generated from Support site) directly by selecting Paste License(s) option.
  3. Click Save License(s).

To apply DDI license key through CLI:
  1. From the CLI, issue the set license command.
  2. Enter the license key string when prompted.
  3. Press y to install the license key or press n to discard the license key.

Grid-wide license installation

Grid-wide licenses are associated with the entire Grid and are assigned to the Grid UID instead of any HWID and the Grid-wide licenses are replicated to all members in the Grid when installed.

To apply Grid-wide DDI license key (recommended through CLI)

1. From the Grid master CLI, issue the set license command.
2. Enter the license key string.
3. Press y to install the license key or press n to discard the license key.

Please use the following CLI command in the Grid Master to obtain the LPCUID or GRID-UID: "show license_uid" or "show license_pool_container"

The Gridwide license file generated through portal cannot be applied through GUI due to some technical issues. Our IT team is actively working on resolving this.
