When using the "VRA CLOUD INFOBLOX PLUGIN" for VMware vRA 8.1, what is the minimum permissions required by the service account being used to access Infoblox?

The minimum permissions will vary, depending on which actions you are using.

 

To allocate IPs from existing networks, on each network you will use, you'll need: Read/Write for IPv4 Host Addresses, IPv4 DHCP Ranges, and IPv4 Fixed Addresses/Reservations, as well as Read for Grid DHCP Properties.

 

To create DNS records for new VMs, for each zone and reverse lookup zone you will use, you'll need: Read/Write for Host, A Records, and PTR.

 

To allocate IP ranges for on-demand networks, for each network container you will allocate from, you'll need: Read/Write for IPv4 Host Addresses, IPv4 DHCP Ranges, and IPv4 Fixed Addresses/Reservations, as well as Read for Grid DHCP Properties.
