DHCP interface change from LAN1 to LAN2 in failover association

I have 2 grid members (8.5.2) that are configured with a DHCP failover association. Currently DHCP services on the secondary FOA are using LAN1 interface but I would like to change it for the member to start to use LAN2 which has a different IP. My relay addresses have already been updated to reflect the new IP.

My question is in regards to leases and the failover association. Should I place the partner down when I make the change to move the DHCP services to the new interface? Then perform a force recovery state once the service has been moved to the new interface? I know the secondary with new interface won't answer requests for the MCLT but will the leases start to go 50/50 over time?
