DNS sync with two servers with the same reverse zone

We have a read/write DNS sync with a Windows server that has reverse (PTR) zones for subnets from the 172.16.0.0/20 private space. This sync has existed for a long time. We recently added a DNS read-only sync with a Windows DNS server that also has PTR zones for subnets from 172.16.0.0/20. We are not seeing the reverse records from this DNS server. Any ideas how to make this work?
