Moving TR-v5005 to new DC

We are moving a TR-v5005 from old DC to new one. There is no stretched VLAN between the two and different IP space. So if I drop off the old v5005 from the grid and add a new v5005 to the grid in the new DC I have the following questions;

(1) confirmation that removal of the reporting searchhead member from the grid will allow the existing reporting indexer member to show as a reporting searchhead in the grid. If not to provide what needs to be done to achieve this.

2) How to assign the new reporting searchhead as the reporting grid member for the grid (since no details in the manual). Jumps from join to config and screen shows no edit capability.
