New User Question: Nios version from Gui and upgrade path!

Hi I have just completed the CDDA course and I have two questions:

 

1. is there a way to get the currently running nios version from the GUI

2. What is the best way to get the best upgrade path from x version to y version.

    The version is under Help > About.  See attachment.

     

    Contacting Support is the best way to determine upgrade paths.  Generally speaking, you should be able to do a direct upgrade as long as the version you are on and the version you are upgrading to are reasonably close.  If the two versions are far apart, you might have to upgrade to an intermediate version, and then upgrade to the final one.
