Need Help Setting Up Infoblox with Morpheus Data (DNS & DHCP Integration)

Hi Infoblox Community,

I’m currently integrating Infoblox with Morpheus Data and facing issues getting both DNS and DHCP to work properly.

🔧 What I’ve Done So Far:

  • Integrated Infoblox in Morpheus using the WAPI endpoint
  • DNS records are successfully created when I provision VMs from Morpheus
  • Configured the network: 192.168.3.0/24
  • Created a DHCP range: 192.168.3.100 – 192.168.3.200
  • Morpheus uses Static IP mode currently, but I plan to switch to DHCP

🚨 Issue:

When I try to assign a Grid Member to the DHCP range in Infoblox, I get the message:

“There are no objects to select” under the "Delegated To" field.

This prevents DHCP from functioning, and no leases are issued even though several VMs have been created.

🙏 Request:

Can someone guide me on:

  • How to properly enable DHCP on a Grid Member so it can be assigned?
  • Is there anything else I need to configure for full Morpheus + Infoblox DHCP support?

Any help or step-by-step instructions would be appreciated. Thank you!

Is Morpheus the HPE stuff? A hypervisor? Not all hypervisors are supported depending on their RFC compliance… and many hybrid cloud environments don't allow DHCP in their VMs. Typically, even for VMWare VRA and VRO there is a dedicated IPAM plugin that is built for this purpose. You can raise an IFR with your account team to get it supported / planned, but if you don't have access to the Morpheus SDK it will prove challenging to get this working if I had to guess.

  • start by making sure DHCP is enabled on the infoblox appliance you want to be the DHCP Server

the system should not allow you to assign a network to a server that isn't running the service. I think the HPE automation in morpheus presumes a workflow where you are writing into an existing infrastructure, not doing an initial setup.
