Meet Our Moderators: Ross Gibson

Welcome back to the Meet Our Moderators series—where you get to know the amazing folks behind the scenes keeping the Infoblox Community running smoothly and making sure your posts get the attention they deserve.
This week, say hello to Ross Gibson.
What's your role at Infoblox and your area of expertise?
I'm a member of Infoblox's Global Subject Matter Expert (SME) team. My primary areas of focus are DNS architecture, DNS Traffic Control (Infoblox's GSLB solution) and DNS security, among others.
What's a trending topic in tech that you're excited about (or skeptical of)?
As with many in the technology industry, I feel that the emergence of AI is an interesting double-edged sword. It can be incredibly powerful in very positive ways. However, it also empowers threat actors and is something we need to ensure is properly bounded to minimize its potential negative impacts.
What type of questions or discussions do you hope to see more of in the Community?
I'm always happy to discuss DTC, so it would be great to see more of that, along with more DNS architectural questions.
What's a fun fact most people don't know about you?
While the majority of my career has been in technology, I also spent a brief period many years ago practicing commercial real estate law.
What would be your dream job if you weren't in tech?
I'd definitely be a musician.
Anything else you'd like Community members to know about you or how to connect?
Other than connecting with me in the Community or on LinkedIn, you can also access my author page on Amazon to check out the book I co-authored called The Hidden Potential of DNS In Security.
