DNS underscore zones are not updating

Hey,

Microsoft AD/DNS checks show major tests passed and replication is healthy.

Mix of 2016 → 2025 OS versions.

Customer DNS is pointing to inflow Infoblox, and Windows DNS manager visibility depends on Infoblox synchronization configuration.

Any similar cases ?

    Its probably best to work with Infoblox Support on this issue. Without more details it would be hard to guess. Here are some things to consider.

    • Where are the DNS zones hosted - in Windows or in Infoblox DNS?
    • If Infoblox is it NIOS or UDDI?
    • Review the syslog messages on the zone primary for any clues.
    • Review the configuration and policies applied to the underscore zones to be sure they are consistent with the parent zone

    • Infoblox NIOS;
    • Infoblox is the authoritative DNS;
    • No errors in the syslog;
    • Double check in configuration and policies, no errors;
    • Records exist in Infoblox but in DNS (e.g., _msdcs);
