I found that these options become very restrictive and can be a fairly large pain to get just right.
This complexity is completely a Cisco issue not Infoblox.
Rather than do that, we already isolate our AP's to a DHCP scope on the network mgt vlan.
What we have found much easier to manage is,
- create a unique dns sub-domain for each pair of Wireless Controllers (WLC's)
- create a host record for "cisco-capwap.new.domain" with each of the WLC IP addresses you want to point to.
One of the first things the AP does after obtaining an IP address (and by proxy being placed in that sub-domain) is look for the short name "cisco-capwap".
This has proven to be much quicker and reliable than trying to get the Cisco Model name exactly correct. Also if you use more than one model you would have to have them in seperate DHCP scopes for unique Opt 43 settings.
