WIndows Server 2012

Hi,The windows guys here are working on upgrading our Active Directory domain controllers to Windows Server 2012 and at the same time raising the functional level of the domain to 2012.We run all our DNS and DHCP services on Infoblox so I don't need to worry about managing Windows servers but this is the only real reference I can find with regards to what versions of Windows are supported in the Admin Guide. What I'm interested in is finding out if anyone else is using Windows Server 2012 with the domain functional level also at 2012 in conjunction with Infoblox, and if so have you had any issues? I should also add that our Infoblox appliances are running 6.6.x and to be clear, they run the DNS for the AD domain.Cheers,Steve

  • I take it this means that no-one else has updated  the Domain Controllers to Server 2012 (or R2) yet? Smiley Happy

  • Microsoft has not changed anything in terms of their specific standardized approached to DNS integration in 2012 or 2012 R2 so there are no issues to be concerned about.  This is one of the few things that they've remained consistent with in terms of complete and full standardization.

Granted, my configuration is small but I've been running DNS on Infoblox for my 2012 and 2012 R2 environments for over a year with no issues.

  • Thanks for the response.

Could I ask what version of NIOS you're running?

  • I recently upgraded from 6.8.3 to 6.9 LD.  I stay very current.
