Just do a backup and forced restore ?
Put both boxes into an HA pair, force a failover, remove the 1050 ?
Or do you only want to import a subset of the data to an existing production system ?
What methods (other than the DIW) have you tried and failed with ?

If you're trying to do a tech refresh it's really not that hard. Another way is to join the 820 into the grid as a grid master candidate, then you can just promote it to be grid master and remove the 1050, assuming you are running a supported version of NIOS.
