Find FQDN and RR Type with only hostname using wapi call

Hello,

 

I got a request to remove a bulk list of hundreds of records from IPAM, this list contains hostnames only.

Within the GUI I can search the hostname and can find it and see the FQDN and type of record. Some are host records and some are cname records. So it is mixed.

I don't want to search the whole list manually and I want to create a python script for this.
Is there a WAPI call that can give me the FQDN and type of record if I just parse the hostname ?
