To gracefully decommission a DNS/DHCP vNIOS (Virtual Network Identity Operating System) device that is already offline, you can  access document and inventory. After Assess impact and notify stakeholders. Transfer DNS and DHCP services and update DNS settings. You test and validate and remove references to the decommissioned device. And get monitor and troubleshoot. myfedloan

To gracefully decommission a vNIOS server, the ideal step is to reset all the data on the server. If you require any data/logs from the server for record purposes, make sure to download the relevant data before decommissioning the server.
To reset the data, 'reset all licenses' command can be issued from the CLI which resets the server database, deletes all licenses and log files, and also reset the network settings to factory default values.
After completing this step, the server can be removed from the host platform.
