Hello, all versions of NIOS 8.5.X are EoL as of October of last year. 8.6.X goes EoL October of this year. This information is in the documentation section of the support portal.

From the release notes, upgrade from 8.5.5 and earlier 8.5.x releases is supported. However, only upgrade from 8.5.5 is tested/validated. Reccomended upgrade path is 8.5.2 -> 8.5.5 -> 8.6.3.
