Hello, I have the same problem. We have our Infoblox IPAM in our On-Premise CPD...
So can you confirm this does work with vRO 8.x?
The value of "name" needs to be an FQDN, in an existing zone to configure the host record for DNS. For example, if you want a DNS record in the zone mycompany.com, pass a value of name.mycompany.com.
From the release notes, upgrade from 8.5.5 and earlier 8.5.x releases is supported. However, only upgrade from 8.5.5 is tested/validated. Reccomended upgrade path is 8.5.2 -> 8.5.5 -> 8.6.3.
