Sending API request to server with HTTP disabled

Hello everyone,

I'm building a simple tool to automate IP reservation and removal with our infoblox server using the API, and I have to take into account the situation where the administrators disable http protocol for a set amount of time (the tool should redirect requests to another server), but I have no idea what would happen in that scenario with the original server: would I be able to connect to it? if so, would it return anything, or would it timeout?

I realize this may not be the place to ask this, but I really need to get this sorted. Any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Ger
