Duplicate object in the database error

Hello, guys.

I get this error message as trying to delete a specific DNS record from the zone:

'Duplicate object in the database'

This is weird! Recycle bin is empty just for the record.

Has anyone ever seen this before?

I faced a similiar issue when trying to edit the Name Server Assignmnets for any Auth zones.

After some investigation, i found that a DB was restored on this grid with all the previous NS names. 

Try running the below command from maintenance mode and see if it reports any obselete records

Synopsis:

set dns-auto-gen check
set dns-auto-gen renew

Description:

Check all auto-generated DNS resource records for issues.
Attempt to repair issues with auto-generated DNS resource records.
