Should fixed address be in DHCP pool?

Hi Folks

Let's say I have a /24 subnet. My DHCP pool is from .10 to .254. If I need to fix an ip address (for printers), must I do it in the DHCP range (10-254) or is it irrelevant? Thanks

Hi Antunez.

If a fixed address is within the DHCP range the ip allocation will be automatic and i understand that for management purpose is better.
In this case the dhcp server will always assigns the same address when a lease request comes from a particular MAC address of the client.

Thank you.
