How to keep subzones while deleting parent zone using WAPI

I'm using such WAPI call

DELETE /wapi/v2.12/zone_auth/xxxxxxx

to remove a certain zone, and found all subzones are also deleted

is there a parameter to keep subzones, only to delete the specified parent zone?

Unfortunately not, this behavior is only available in the GUI.
