NETWORKING
Infoblox Universal DDI™ for Google’s Cloud WAN: Infrastructure-Free DNS and DHCP Services
Now Available
Infoblox has announced a partnership with Google Cloud to simplify enterprise networking and security while helping organizations accelerate their cloud transformation journeys. This collaboration addresses key challenges in hybrid, multi-cloud networking and cybersecurity with two new, cloud-native offerings to deliver clearer visibility, stronger control and better protection.
This fully integrated solution combines Google’s Cross-Cloud Network infrastructure with Infoblox’s NIOS-X as a Service DNS and DHCP capabilities, transforming enterprise networking by providing unmatched performance, resiliency and scale across the globe. It delivers reliable DNS and DHCP services without the need for on-premises hardware or software appliances, reducing total cost of ownership. This Infoblox offering is available now through the Google Cloud Marketplace. To learn more about the partnership, read our recent networking blog and watch the product demo.
Infoblox Universal DDI Management: Ping Sweep Discovery, Asset Inventory Export
Now Available
Ping Sweep Discovery: You can now leverage NIOS-X servers to perform full network ping sweeps for your on-premises environments, allowing for discovery of devices managed outside of DHCP, automatically populated discovered IPs into IPAM.
Asset Inventory Export: With Universal Asset Insights, you can now export the full contents of your Asset Inventory as a CSV file.
NIOS-X as a Service: IPSec Connectivity for AWS and Google Cloud, Editable Remote ID
Now Available
IPSec Connectivity for AWS and Google Cloud: This enhancement provides secure connectivity between NIOS-X as a Service and Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud accounts via IPsec. This feature enables faster deployment and more streamlined delivery of DNS and DHCP services to branch offices.
Editable Remote ID: This enhancement enables the configuration of IPSec Remote ID support for interoperability with VeloCloud SD-WAN devices.
Infoblox Universal DDI Management: Stale DNS Records, DHCP Ping Before Offer, Fault Tolerant Caching
Coming Soon
Stale DNS Records: The DNS Record Classification Monitor monitors and reports on DNS records that have not been queried within the last 180 days. This feature enhances security by reducing the likelihood of dangling or abandoned DNS records that could become targets for malicious actors.
DHCP Ping Before Offer: You can configure NIOS-X DHCP Servers to check whether an IP address is in use before offering it to a DHCP client. This feature improves network performance and stability by avoiding IP address conflicts, which may cause disruptions and connectivity issues.
Fault Tolerant Caching: You can configure recursive NIOS-X DNS Servers to use expired DNS responses if an authoritative server isn’t reachable.
NIOS-X as a Service: Dynamic WAN IP
Coming Soon
Dynamic WAN IP: This feature expands branch office support to include WAN configuration options that use DHCP addressing, such as less expensive broadband solutions.
NIOS-X Server: Kubernetes Version Upgrade
Coming Soon
Timeframe: Beginning mid-May, Kubernetes on NIOS-X servers will have phased upgrades until the end of June. Updates follow the "Schedule Software Updates" settings on the Infoblox Portal.
Impact: Most deployments will see no impact (appliances and VMs). However, NIOS-X(BloxOne) Bare-metal deployments (i.e. Docker, containerd) may experience up to 5 minutes of service interruption. Bare-metal upgrades will be scheduled for weekends to minimize impact, unless a specific Software Update Schedule is already scheduled for a different day of the week.
Validation: You can verify the upgrade has occurred on the “Configure / Servers” page of the Infoblox Portal. The updated version is v1.30.9 and is visible by clicking “View all Tags” for a NIOS-X server and looking for “host/k8s_version”.

SECURITY
Infoblox Threat Defense: DNS Forwarding Proxy Upgrade
Now Available
The DNS Forwarding Proxy is a critical component to ensuring optimal protection for customers, enabling agentless access to Infoblox Threat Defense services for users, network devices, IoT and other infrastructure elements.
We have upgraded the DNS Forwarding Proxy on NIOS and NIOS-X (standalone servers/hosts) to improve connectivity with the Infoblox Cloud and to address minor software issues.
Infoblox Threat Defense: Redirect Page URL Change
Now Available
To improve Infoblox Threat Defense management and align with new naming, the redirect page has been moved to a new URL: redirect.infobloxtd.com and the current URL (redirect.b1tdc.infoblox.com) will be decommissioned. The infobloxtd.com domain was introduced in August 2024 and is used for other Infoblox Threat Defense services.
Infoblox strongly recommends that all customers update your network configuration and SSL certificate to enable access to the redirect page.
Infoblox Threat Defense: Infoblox Endpoint Enhancements
Now Available
Infoblox Endpoint for Windows version 2.5.0 has received additional hardening to prevent most common tampering tactics that occur when admin users stop or disable the service, terminate the process or remove configuration files. When such attempts are detected, they will be logged in the security log available on the Infoblox Portal.
Infoblox Endpoint on Windows, MacOS and Linux will provide protection whether the endpoint is online or offline. When connected to Infoblox Cloud, full DNS resolution and protection are available. With this release, if cloud connectivity is lost, offline endpoints will still be safeguarded with a subset of locally stored threat intelligence.
Infoblox Threat Defense: Infoblox Endpoint for ChromeOS Manifest V3
Now Available
Infoblox Endpoint for ChromeOS received a major upgrade to support Manifest V3. The existing application and extension will be deprecated by the end of May 2025. To continue protecting ChromeOS devices, you will need to install a new extension. For further information, please refer to the documentation.
Google Cloud’s DNS Armor, powered by Infoblox: Native Protective DNS Google Service
Coming Soon (Late 2025)
As part of the partnership with Google Cloud, we are also enhancing security for Google Cloud workloads beginning in late 2025. A native Protective DNS service, DNS Armor provides robust and preemptive detection of malicious activity for Google Cloud workloads by detecting attacks63 days before other solutions. ECOSYSTEM
Ecosystem: Cisco ISE & CrowdStrike EDR
Coming Soon
We are adding Universal DDI support for our most used NIOS integration. Threats detected through threat intelligence feeds, machine learning and advanced analytics in Infoblox Threat Defense or SOC Insights will be shareable directly with Cisco ISE for use in their “authorization policies." When Infoblox detects and blocks internet threats, like C2 or tunneling, Cisco ISE will then be able to immediately limit internal access of those assets until the investigation is complete. Configuration will be available to customize by network, confidence and threat level.
Ecosystem: Google SecOps SIEM
Coming Soon
Infoblox will soon have a syslog integration with Google SecOps SIEM using the Infoblox Cloud Data Connector (CDC). This integration will enable sending Infoblox IPAM and security asset, threat, and insights to the SIEM for enrichment, assessment and response. Once available, customers will be able to view the deployment guide with clear integration steps and assurance of supported integration from the Ecosystem portal.
